DIY Laundry Detergent

Made my own laundry detergent! I took an intolerance and toxin test recently and all my toxins were cleaning items. I got lazy and kept buying store bought and even myself got tricked by the "green washing" tricks. You might wonder what green washing is, Greenwashing is the process of conveying a false impression or providing misleading information about how a company's products are more environmentally sound. Greenwashing is considered an unsubstantiated claim to deceive consumers into believing that a company's products are environmentally friendly.

This recipe took maybe 2 minutes to make.

What you need:

1 cup Borox

1 cup Washing Soda

1 cup Baking Soda

5oz of Castile Soap (I used liquid but a bar is okay too, you just need to grate it)

1 capful of Thieves Cleaner by Young Living (Okay if you don't have it! I just really think it helps)

I don't think you need a membership anymore but you do receive 25% off if you join! If you want to join heres my member ID: 25029930

20 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil or any Oil of your choice

Glass Jars to Store

Simply mix all the ingredients together and you're good to go. Add 1-2 tablespoons per load. I like to add mine to the bottom of the washer, fill it a bit, and then add clothes to make sure it dissolves. If you want to turn this into a liquid detergent, add 2/3 cup boiling water to grated castile soap and dissolve. Then add other ingredients and add water until you reach a gel-like consistency.

Let me know if you try it!
